Color System
This color system uses a grounded, earthy palette that reflects stability, nourishment, and clarity, perfect for topics centered on community wellbeing and accessibility. Together, these colors create a cohesive visual foundation that feels trustworthy, human-centered and visually refined.
Typography
This project uses Montserrat across all weights to maintain a clean, modern, and cohesive visual system. Its geometric readability supports clear hierarchy for headings, subheadings, and body text, ensuring consistency and a polished aesthetic throughout.
Sketches and Wireframes
The process started with hand-drawn sketches to explore layout ideas and establish hierarchy, then moved into high-fidelity wireframes that refined spacing, alignment, and structure. This step-by-step approach ensured a clear, organized, and intentional final infographic.
Early Versions
Version 1 had a solid foundation but lacked visual consistency and balance. The header illustration felt disconnected from the overall style, and misaligned elements disrupted the flow.

Version 2 looked cleaner with a refined header and simplified icons, but the “A Nation Divided” section was still too busy, and alignment issues kept the design from feeling unified.

Version 3 improved spacing and expression but used off-message fast-food imagery, creating style inconsistencies. Alignment was better, yet the visuals still didn’t fully support a nutrition-focused theme.
Final Poster
The final version clarifies the conflict by redesigning the figures to show mutual disagreement and replacing fast-food imagery with healthy groceries, creating a clearer, more accurate, and cohesive message.
Intent
The intent of this project was to create an educational and visually engaging infographic that clearly communicates the importance of SNAP and its impact on families, communities, and the U.S. economy. The goal was to break down complex information into approachable visuals, highlight the human consequences of food insecurity, and emphasize why SNAP is a vital program that supports public health, economic stability, and community well-being. Through thoughtful design, accessible iconography, and balanced storytelling, the project aims to inform viewers, challenge misconceptions, and inspire proactive civic engagement around food security and policy.
